In 1775, George Washington’s secretary, Colonel John Reed suggested the design for what came to be known as An Appeal to Heaven Flag, a variation of the earlier Pine Tree Flag. Six schooners, commissioned by the Continental Congress to intercept British ships entering Boston harbor, flew the flag.
The phrase “Appeal to Heaven,” an expression of the right to revolution, appears in John Locke’s “Second Treatise on Government” (1690), a refutation of the divine right of kings.
No wonder the Left and its media minions are now losing their minds and denouncing the flag, since it is a direct challenge to the fascist police state they are trying to establish in our land of liberty.
